Marketing Games on Social Media

Learn to market games on social media with Taylor

Came across this video by Taylor Rodriguez about using social media to market your game. This is something I feel I am weak at and a skill I need to learn as I am making my game.

Many things to consider but important is brand feel what do you want to be known for. At the end making a game is not helpful if you can’t market it to an audience.

Guide to market your game on social media

Came across a video guide by Taylor Rodriguez for indie game developers on how to use social media marketing to increase their game's wish list on Steam and achieve financial stability.

The speaker recommends focusing on one or two platforms, such as Tik Tok and Twitter, and keeping posts consistent. It is also important to create a brand for your studio and include links to your social media accounts and Discord server on your Steam page.

Here are some key takeaways:

  • Focus on creating high-quality video content.

  • Post consistently, even if it's just twice a week.

  • Engage with your community by responding to comments and participating in discussions.

  • Be mindful of your branding and messaging.

  • Avoid posting negative or non-gaming related content.

  • Social media marketing is just one touchpoint; consider using other marketing channels as well.
