The Hype Cycle: Will AI Replace Programmers?
Most skilled programmers do not rely on AI for core coding (0:09).
Extreme claims about AI's capabilities are often exaggerated for attention (1:17 - 2:05).
AI is useful for specific tasks, like search, but it is not currently the revolutionary force the hype suggests. Meaning it canโt make new things
Just program that is the bottom line. I did try AI for some game code but it does not help much. AI can help as a code research assistant and checker but it canโt do it one shot or without much guidance
Johnathan does alleage that they person claiming the hype is probable not that honest how the AI was used to code.
What about Game AI future?
AI taking awaya jobs, maybe but also there was the covid overhiring I do think recession is long overdue but somehow got propped up or we dodged it?
For Game Dev AI its still early it can help with code snippet generation and scripts like for Engines in Unity but Unreal Blueprints not so much. That is why UE6 is going to the verse language so AI can output code faster.
In the end we cannot predict the future its something nice to think and ponder but I feel the real programmers are out there solving and making things even games.
I guess back to work and just code.
