AI Tools leaping forward. Came across Concept Artist Maciej Kuciara on X where he made a short trailer Halo Echoes all done with AI Tools.

I feel that is much better than some of the AI Video Generation that come straigt out of the software. But make no mistake this looks more cohesive and art directed well. I do beleive AI is a tool it can’t really do everything well. You need an artistic eye to make it work.

🔎Interesting Finds

Saber Interactive made a bold move by initially offering their work on the Halo Combat Evolved Remaster for free. This strategic gamble not only showcased their expertise to Microsoft but also paved the way for a renegotiated deal that eventually earned them millions in royalties. The key takeaway? Sometimes, taking on work without immediate pay can unlock even greater opportunities down the line if you have confidence in your skills.

I guess doing business for free to entice the customer if you know you can get even more work.

"I said I'd do it for free because it's Halo," Karch told Totilo. "It’s the biggest franchise in the world at the time. I said: ‘It’s like putting a Harvard diploma on your wall. Everyone in the world is going to want to work with me after they see that I've worked on this last Halo game, and it is going to open up doors. So I’ll suck it up and I’ll do it at a loss.'”
